Wiltshire County Masters Competition 2017 - Round 2
The 2nd Round of Wiltshire Masters County Championships was on 3rd June; Chippenham finished 5th on the night with 23 points and are now 5th in the overall standings with 63 points just 3 points behind Bradford on Avon heading in to the final round in October at Salisbury. Chippenham swimmers competed in 21 individual events and 4 relays and won 2 golds, 5 silvers and 7 bronze, and 5 club records were broken/set. We also had first swims at Masters from Amy Hall and our oldest swimmer Malcolm Cruse (60 years old)
Jack Cook won gold in 50m Butterfly and 25m Freestyle
Matthew Cruse won silver in 100m Backstroke and bronze in 25m Freestyle and 100m Breaststroke
Amy Hall won silver in 25m Freestyle and bronze in 50m Butterfly
Matt Hare won silver in 50m Butterfly
Sally Mann won silver in 25m Freestyle
Malcolm Cruse won silver in 25m Freestyle
Shaun Cairns won bronze in 100m Backstroke
Bryony Cairns won Bronze in 100m Breaststroke
The 120-159years Men’s 100m Freestyle relay team of Shaun, Matt, Matthew and Jack took bronze
The 160-199years Men’s 100m Medley relay team of Malcolm, Shaun, Matt and Jack took Bronze.
Chippenham now has 3 swimmers qualified for 13 events at the Masters World Championships and 10 swimmers qualified for 87 events at the Masters National Championships.
